A Touching Performance

Beste, 
Hierbij stel ik me graag aan je voor. Mijn naam is Ariadna Rubio Lleó. Ik ben in 2008 afgestudeerd aan de Mime Opleiding en werk(te) sindsdien met verschillende theatermakers en groepen (waaronder ‘theatercollectief Schwalbe’ en aan eigen werk vanuit ‘a company’). Momenteel zit ik in het derde (en laatste) jaar van de deeltijd opleiding: Theaterdocent Verkort/Academie voor Theater en Dans (AHK). Binnen deze opleiding ben ik mijn artistieke en pedagogische vaardigheden aan het ontwikkelen.

Mijn werk is associatief en humoristisch. Ik houd van het bevragen van tussenmenselijke verhoudingen en speel graag met de verwachtingen en aannames van mijn publiek. Voor mijn afstudeervoorstelling ‘A Touching Performance’ vertrek ik vanuit de vraag wat intimiteit is en wat wij gewend zijn om als verleiding (in bv films) te zien. En ook vooral: wie er mag verleiden. Ik vraag me af of het mogelijk is, om een intiem moment op het toneel mogelijk te maken, terwijl er een publiek naar kijkt. Naast dat ik me afvraag, wiens blik hierin leidend zal zijn. Ik hoop je in het publiek te zien en wie weet, wellicht wordt je ook nog’s geraakt.

Dear,
Hereby I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Ariadna Rubio Lleó. I graduated from the Mime Opleiding in 2008 and since then I have been working with various theater makers and groups (including ‘theater collective Schwalbe’ and on my own work from ‘a company’). Currently I am in the third (and last) year of the part-time program: Theatre Teacher Shortened/Academy for Theatre and Dance (AHK). Within this study I am developing my artistic and pedagogical skills.

My work is associative and humorous. I like to question interpersonal relationships and play with the expectations and assumptions of my audience. For my graduation performance ‘A Touching Performance’ I start from the question of what is intimacy. What are we used to seeing as seduction and who is allowed to seduce (e.g. in films). Is it possible to make an intimate moment on stage while an audience is watching? Whose gaze will be leading? I hope to see you in the audience and who knows, maybe you will even be touched.
